IT’S TIME TO SPRING CLEAN YOURSELF

It’s officially Spring…apparently.

OK, So the weather isn’t quite playing ball just yet, but as far as my wardrobe and mind set goes, I’m just not letting the weather dampen my spirits.

“We spring clean our homes, our cars and our lives but as this season rolls around I also like to spring clean myself.”

There’s something about this time of year that gets me jumping out of bed in the morning with a fresh lease of life, I’m no longer clambering frantically for my dressing gown as the bite in the morning air has warmed slightly and as the bright day light which pours through the shutters in our bathroom, meets my sleepy eyes, I feel instantly awake.

We are emerging from the depths of Winter into the light of Spring and with that comes a sense of renewal. We spring clean our homes, our cars and our lives but as this season rolls around I also like to spring clean myself. The ultimate spring fresh start.

ENVIRONMENT

In all honesty, you can’t truly spring clean yourself until you have spring cleaned your environment so before you do anything, bag up those old clothes for charity, get the Zoflora out and blitz the place. It’s one of the best feelings in the world to cleanse your space of all the unnecessary faff we accumulate and clean the place from top to bottom ready for pushing open the windows and letting the spring air full your house.

SPRING BEAUTY

Spring is one of my most favourite seasons when it comes to beauty. We tend to strip it all back, lighter make up, barely there bases and a natural dewy complexion leads the way into the warmer season and all of this starts with skincare. As a self proclaimed beauty lover, I love nothing more than to clear out my beauty drawers of all the heavy, thick products from the season past and treat myself to some new in bits. SOAK & EXFOLIATE

I’m definitely more of a shower kind of girl but since moving to our new house and falling in love with our marble ensuite, baths have become a bit of a treat. Admittedly, it’s not often I have the time for a long soak in the tub but every now and then a little window of opportunity opens up and I take full advantage. HAIR REFRESH

I always change my hair a little from colder to warmer months and a hair refresh ready for Spring is an absolute MUST. My Spring hair appointment is booked for the second week of April and I am literally counting down the days.

MANI/PEDI

You’re toots have been under wraps for a fair few months and your hands will need some TLC after the epic spring clean so book yourself and Mani/Pedi and add a pop of pastel into the mix to brighten things up a bit.

A SPRING CLEAN OF THE MIND

It is exactly what it says on the tin! It’s time for a spring clean of your mind. I always find a good refresh of my most positive thought processes and habits is an absolute winner for productivity  and my mental well being. But it’s also never too late to over haul the way you think and the relationship you have with your mind. I saw a great quote knocking about recently on social media;

“IF A PERSON HAS UGLY THOUGHTS, IT BEGINS TO SHOW ON THE FACE. AND WHEN THAT PERSON HAS UGLY THOUGHTS EVERY DAY, EVERY WEEK, EVERY YEAR, THE FACE GETS UGLIER AND UGLIER UNTIL IT GETS SO UGLY YOU CAN HARDLY BEAR TO LOOK AT IT.”

Beauty products and potions are one thing, but a beautiful mind will shine out of you like rays of light. We’ve all met those girls who appear to get more and more beautiful the longer you speak to them and that is because they have a beautiful mind and thoughts. I’m going to be doing a lot more yoga and meditation this season, hopefully first thing in the mornings to really get my head in a positive mindset. I want to ensure every day starts in the best way possible!
